SVCOA announces 2022 Medicare informational class schedule

BENNINGTON, Vt. – Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging today announced its schedule of free, virtual Medicare informational sessions to be held throughout 2022.

Offered through SVCOA’s SHIP (Statewide Health Insurance Assistance Program) department and hosted by Elizabeth Greaney, SVCOA SHIP Coordinator, each Medicare class will cover a range of topics including Medicare Part A and Part B, Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage Plans), and Medicare Part D - prescription drug coverage. Educational sessions will also cover Medicare Supplemental Insurance (Medigap), enrollment periods, and coming off of employer-based insurance.

All classes will be held virtually via Zoom, and typically last about 1.5 hours. SVCOA’s complete 2022 Medicare class schedule is as follows:

January 25, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

February 23, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

March 30, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

April 27, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

May 25, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

June 29, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

July 27, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

August 31, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

September 28, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

SVCOA’s SHIP program is designed to provide information, assistance and support to Medicare beneficiaries who need help selecting or managing public and / or private health insurance benefits.
