Community Health Day on Tuesday Nov 7th at Godnick Adult Center, Rutland VT

Community Health Day - Rutland Nov 7th 2023

The Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging (SVCOA) is proud to announce its collaboration with Rutland Regional Medical Center and Rutland Free Clinic for another Community Health Day, set to occur on November 7th, 2023, in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness. This informative and beneficial event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Godnick Adult Center in Rutland, Vermont.

With winter approaching, SVCOA will be providing 3SQVT and Fuel Assistance Applications, ensuring that individuals in the community have the resources they need to prepare for the winter season. These applications are critical for those in need of financial assistance to heat their homes during the colder months. SVCOA will also have other resources available for all services they offer.

Rutland Free Clinic, a pillar of healthcare accessibility in the region, will offer basic health screenings during the event. Additionally, they will have a licensed Pharmacist on site, providing free consultations for individuals with questions about their medications or supplements. This unique opportunity for face-to-face consultation will help attendees better understand and manage their health. Visit the Rutland Free Clinic Website Here

The Foley Cancer Center, a part of Rutland Regional Medical Center, will also participate in Community Health Day. They will be present to provide information on breast health and resources on breast cancer prevention and early detection. Furthermore, attendees can schedule screening mammograms at RRMC, promoting early detection and overall well-being. Visit the RRMC Foley Cancer Center Website Here

It's important to note that this event will not offer vaccinations. Instead, it focuses on the valuable information and services available from SVCOA, Rutland Free Clinic, and Rutland Regional Medical Center.

For any questions or further information, the SVCOA Assistant Community Services Director, Madelyn Gardner, is available to assist. She can be reached through the SVCOA toll-free and confidential hotline at 1-800-642-5119.
