At SVCOA, we believe that health and independence go hand in hand. Our Wellness Program empowers older adults to stay active, connected, and engaged in their communities through a growing range of evidence-based classes, events, and local resources.
From improving balance and mobility to supporting emotional wellness, SVCOA is here to help individuals take meaningful steps toward healthy aging.
Tai Chi for Falls Prevention
Gentle, low-impact movement to build strength, balance, and confidence
SVCOA partners with Tai Chi Vermont to offer Tai Chi for Falls Prevention, a nationally recognized program shown to improve flexibility, reduce fall risk, and promote physical well-being.

Walk With Ease
A flexible walking program designed for every ability level
Developed by the Arthritis Foundation, Walk With Ease is a self-guided or group-based program that helps older adults reduce joint pain, build endurance, and improve heart health.

Accessible for individuals managing arthritis or mobility challenges.

*NEW CLASS IN POULTNEY STARTS MARCH 2nd*
Join us in Poultney for Walk With Ease, a free, evidence-based walking program designed to help adults 60 and older improve mobility, manage arthritis symptoms, and support overall health. Backed by the Arthritis Foundation, Walk With Ease offers guided group walks at a comfortable pace that welcome all ability levels.
Classes begin Monday, March 2, and meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00–11:00 AM at St. Raphael’s Parish Hall, located at 21 East Main Street, Poultney, VT. The session runs through April 10.
Interested participants are invited to attend a short orientation on February 27 at 10:00 AM at Poultney Young at Heart to learn more about the program and what to expect.
